GiftLift Outreach

Street outreach is GiftLift's program serving people currently experiencing homelessness. Cards are routed through shelter staff and case managers who already have a relationship with the individual — not handed out on a corner, never posted publicly, never tied to a means test. The card shows up where a trusted worker can pass it along in private.

Street outreach

Outreach workers carry a small kit of cards on shifts — grocery, fast food, pharmacy, transit — and pass them one-to-one when a need comes up in the field. The categories stocked on a given shift follow what the partner staff is already hearing from the people they serve that week.

Supply distribution

Larger card allotments go to shelter intake desks and drop-in centers, where case managers keep a small balance on hand for residents moving into housing — first-night groceries, transit to a placement, a pharmacy card for a prescription due that week. The card leaves with the case manager, not the program.

A donated gift card becomes a tool a shelter worker hands to one person at a time. Donate a card, or partner with us if your organization already serves people on the street.
