If you live in Reno, Sparks, or anywhere in northern Nevada and need a hand with groceries, transit, or a pharmacy run, GiftLift may be able to help — but we don't take applications from residents directly. Cards are routed through a shelter, case manager, or outreach worker who already knows you. They'll request a card on your behalf, and it'll arrive at their desk, privately, by name.

Have your worker request help →If you're unhoused or staying somewhere temporary and need groceries, transit, or a pharmacy run, ask an outreach worker or shelter intake desk. They can pull a card for you from a small private balance.
Coming home and need food, transit to a job site, or work clothes for your first days back? Your reentry case manager can request a card for your first 30 days out.
Aged out of foster care, parenting a young family, or working with a youth-services program? Your social worker, school counselor, or family-services case manager can refer you.
Connected with the VA, a VSO, or a veterans' housing program? Your VA social worker or VSO can request a card on your behalf.
The case manager, shelter staff, or outreach worker signs on at giftlift.org/partner and requests a card for you by name.
Usually within one business day, we confirm the request with the partner and load a card matched to the need — grocery, transit, pharmacy, or general.
Never mailed to you directly. Your worker hands the card to you in person, in private, at a meeting place that already feels safe.
