GiftLift

Nonprofit Information

This page exists so corporate donors, charity navigators, and vetting teams can confirm GiftLift's legitimacy. Everything below is factual. Where a status has not yet been finalized, we say so plainly.

Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN)
42-3194934

501(c)(3) status — application pending

Application pending with the IRS. Federal tax-exempt determination under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code has not yet been issued.

Until that determination is received, GiftLift operates as a nonprofit corporation in good standing under state law but is not a federally tax-exempt organization. Contributions made during this period are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Annual reporting

Once federal tax-exempt determination is received, GiftLift will publish annual program and financial reporting on this page, including aggregate distributions, partner activity, and an independent review where applicable. Until then, material developments — partnership additions, governance changes, and determination milestones — will be posted here as they occur.

How an unused gift card becomes shelter impact

This is the chain every GiftLift donation follows from your desk to a person in need.

📝
Catalogued. Each donated card is logged by retailer, value, and condition before it leaves our intake.
🤝
Routed. Cards are matched to vetted community partners — shelters, case managers, and reentry programs serving the populations we focus on.
👥
Distributed. Partner staff hand cards directly to named individuals in their care. No means-testing, no fees, no resale.
🔎
Confirmed. Each partner confirms receipt and reports approximate use — groceries, transit, pharmacy, clothing.
📊
Reported. Aggregate program totals — cards in, cards out, partner activity — are published annually on this page once reporting is in place.

Programs like GiftLift Outreach, GiftLift Veterans Forward, and GiftLift Second Chance show what that chain looks like in practice — see the program pages for the street-outreach, veterans, and reentry workflows.
